First Tablet Project

A week ago I got my new Wacom Cintiq 21ux! I was super excited to play around with it!! But I didn’t know what I wanted to to…so I watched a bunch of matte painting tuts and got my inspiration on!! After setting up some hot keys on the tablet and fiddling around with it a bit I decided to do jump right in and do a Photoshop painting…I learned a lot of new things that helped me in the process of getting a good workflow down and discovered how comfortable it was to use the tablet. It’s my new best friend!!! So here’s what I did in a Days time as a first Wacom tablet project.

5 Rendered out dynamic poses

For my animation class I had to complete 5 dynamic poses using this one character in Autodesk Maya. He didn’t say that we had to use any special textures or lighting, he just instructed for us to have the poses..but I figured I would do a little extra and teach myself how to do some basic lighting, texturing and rendering. I really enjoyed doing it too. I’m slowly getting comfortable with Maya’s workflow. Hopefully here soon I will be able to navigate Maya like I do Photoshop and Illustrator.

I think everyone should get one of these to capture some fond memories!
